Did you know ….Hot off the press!!!! – The Ox is opening in Cheltenham this weekend!

Building on the success of their award winning Bristol steakhouse, the team behind The Ox will soon be opening their second restaurant in Cheltenham.

On the Friday 23rd October Bristol based restaurateurs Nathan Lee, Jason Mead and Kevin Stokes will be introducing their much loved steak restaurant, The Ox, to Cheltenham as they open their newest venture in the historic Cotswolds city.

Housed in the basement of 10 Cambray Place, previously home to Vanilla restaurant, The Ox will focus on high quality local, seasonal produce, cooked to the exceptional standards set by The Ox’s Executive Head Chef, Todd Francis. The menu will include a heavy focus on prime cuts of steak, all of which will be cooked in the restaurant’s Josper oven, giving the meat a distinctive charcoal flavour. Other dishes on the menu will include seasonal small plates, classic charcuterie and stunning desserts, as well as offering a Sunday roast widely hailed as one of the best in Bristol.


Diners can also expect a specially designed drinks menu, featuring expertly selected wines, unique craft beers and a range of cocktails, taking inspiration from The Ox’s sister venues, The Milk Thistle and Hyde & Co, and created to be enjoyed throughout different stages of the meal.

“We’re bringing to Cheltenham our ethos of simple, yet interesting food made using top quality local produce, served in a relaxed, informal & bustling environment. We chose Cheltenham as the city for our first restaurant outside Bristol because we felt an immediate affinity with the area. There is an obvious love of good food & drink, fabulous architecture & grand parks and open spaces. We’re excited to be a part of Cheltenham’s development”


The Ox Bristol opened in 2013 on Corn Street in Bristol and has since built a reputation as one of Bristol’s finest dining establishments, winning praise from Guardian critic Marina O’Loughlin as well as a host of local critics and foodies for the high food, drink and service standards.

The Ox Cheltenham will be opening on Friday 23rd October and will be open for lunch, dinner and Sunday roast, as well as offering an early bird deal of 6oz rump steak, chips, sauce and a glass of wine for just £12.50 every day from 5-7pm.
