Whistle Stop at The Kings Head Inn, Bledington.

Whistle Stop at The Kings Head Inn, Bledington.

My husband and I came here once for a drink last year and promised we’d be back soon. It took rather longer than planned but The Kings Head Inn was a perfect Whistle stop for a quick lunch en route to The Cornbury Festival last weekend.

If you are over Kingham way, I can highly recommend this pub for eat & drink and I haven’t quite managed to sleep there yet but there’s always hope that one day I could dine here and roll up stairs instead of home! 😉

We didn’t have much time but our food was served really quickly and was great.

With time of the essence and ‘Pre festival mode’ we thought we should ‘Carb up’ and so we both opted for one of the Open Sandwiches from the lunch menu.

My husband AKA – ‘Hawk’ chose the full on BLT whilst I opted for the Cheese option! An Isle of Mull Cheddar no less which was served with a spiced onion jam. It was just the ticket.

We had extra fries and a Rocket, Walnut and Balsamic Salad as side dishes and … well…gone in 60 seconds ????

The King’s Head Inn is in such a pretty spot, admittedly quite a grey day makes my snaps a little dull but visit yourselves to see how very picturesque the village of Bledington is, with its super Inn to welcome you in for fine food and great service.

I shall report in when I have wined and dined and let you know if I get to stay over!

More to come on the Cornbury Festival…..
