Well …..I didn’t know this but I do now, Cheltenham’s gorgeous hotel hotspot, The Montpellier Chapter has a fabulous new subterranean spa!!
It’s such a lovely hotel anyway so this week I popped over to try out the Spa, and I wasn’t disappointed, it is LOVELY and very good value!
I was also pleasantly surprised that they use some of the best products around, the exclusively all-natural REN products which are loved by beauty editors and skincare experts alike! It had to be REN didn’t it? A great British brand with all their products made from natural ingredients in the heart of Devon.
The Spa is open to residents and non-residents a like, and what’s more they offer 20% off all REN treatment prices, from Monday to Thursday inclusive* (*Excludes packages, promotions and body contouring detox wrap.)
They also offer a great selection of Spa days and offers which can be found by clicking here...
I had booked an express facial from the great spa treatment menu, for more information…click here.
REN Express Facial – 30 minutes £30
A re-engergising express facial, for maximum results in minimum time. Your REN Express Facial includes a full cleanse with massage techniques to release tension in the jaw line, application of serum with attention to acupressure points, finished off with the best day or night cream to suit your skins needs. A fantastic pick me up.
Well I certainly felt refreshed, relaxed and soothed and could have dropped off for a snooze but my lovely friend Rose was joining me for supper so I couldn’t lie around being lazy!
Instead I headed for the bar, grabbed a drink and sat in the Conservatory, catching up with my diary.
Rose came bearing gifts, a beautifully unique Lavender like the one below…
We were shown to our table in the impressive dining room, very smart and grand in its own way whilst being very comfortable and cosy too!
As we perused the menu, the very kind Manager appeared at our table with the aforementioned Lavender which I had already forgotten, and he kindly suggested that he take it to be looked after at reception…
We could also have eaten outside in the beautiful courtyard or on the front terrace but the weather wasn’t quite as keen as we were.
The menu was great, and such good value for money …
2 courses for 13.50 and 3 courses for 16.50, so obviously we opted for the latter.
As Rose rightly said, ‘you wouldn’t even get two courses for £16.50 in Pizza Express‘ so we figured, we would tuck in!
I chose the Soup of the day which was a Sweet potato and something or other, but I was so busy chatting that I COMPLETELY missed the second ingredient. I ordered it anyway, and it was yummy, washed down with a few piping hot rolls, cooked freshly before us in the open view bread oven! Rose chose the Breaded Whitebait with garlic aloli, grilled bruschetta…and she really enjoyed it, I was tempted to order another for myself!
For main, we both ordered the Hake which came with a warm potato & bean salad, and tapenade dressing. We both loved this and felt no guilt gobbling down the gorgeously cooked, light and succulent fish which was just the right size.
And then pudding time…there were two serious contenders here. The Apple & Almond Strudel with Vanilla Ice Cream and the Strawberry & Vanilla Mousse with Shortbread biscuit. SO we had one each and they were gone, within seconds. Oooooops.
Here’s mine 🙂
It was a lovely afternoon out in beautiful surroundings, with gorgeous products and great company. What’s more and what I always feel makes a place special is the customer service. I was so well looked after from the moment that I stepped into The Chapter that I really can’t fault my visit.
I will be back soon, well I have to anyway to collect my very well cared for Lavender because, as predicted I FORGOT TO GET IT FROM RECEPTION!! Never fear however, Mr Manager tweeted me to tell me it would be well looked after!!
Now for a snooze….and then to plan my return visit for Lavender rescue…
